So I may have come home last night, lied down to take a break and fallen asleep for 11 hours. Yeah...that's right I went into a comma because my body could not handle all the excitement :)
Yesterday was great. It was my first real day and we decided to head over to the North Shore. First of all...notice my overall shorts. Don't be jealous, they are my new love! Second, notice how...um...excited (I think) Chase is. I'm not sure what is happening with the boogie board but apparently that means he is ready.
Before we left I had to try out the fish spear. It was intense and I figure if I ever used it some tourist in the ocean would go home with a three prong hole in their side. Hopefully we go out soon. Chase has the form down pretty much, hunched backed, follow through, and great eye contact (I have not idea if that is real he just looks so serious in the photo.) But I will definitely look the best considering the overalls...oh did I mention them again? My bad.
We stopped along the way just to check out the ocean. The ocean is so much louder then I thought but in such a peacefully way. Weird. To get up on the lava rocks I had to cross a little waterway that let the river into the ocean and it was terrifying. I thought it would be no big deal but the ocean was either sucking water in or pushing it back up and it was unexpectedly vicious. But obviously I am still alive what not biotch.
We saw the home of Pete the Dragon on the way there. Cool.
And this is Tunnels Beach. Yup where that girl got her arm bit off. We went snorkeling and it.was.out.of.control. We saw pink fish, yellow and black, black and white, green with blue eyes etc. It was just pretty awesome and fun. Except I had a hard time getting used to hearing myself breath so loud. It was like the little Mermaid and Darth Vadar had em a baby. Also there we these two, slightly blump, old ladies with straw hats just flouting around on noodles. I kept thinking when I am old that is what I will be doing. We also met these sweet Hindu people out in T-shirts and shorts with dots on their foreheads. They were awesome even after we lost their sun glasses in the ocean. Then we ate lunch. Yeah. I love food. And I love Bubba's burgers. Except notice how much a shake is, I also point out a shake is just soft serve with syrup...all food is expensive even normal grocery food.
After eating we went down and boogie boarded. It was saaaaaweet. Once I got a hang of how the ocean sucks you out for a sec and then pushes you back in a wave I felt comfortable. It was unnerving at first but all good now. Eventually the burning in my nose from salt brought me in and I lounged on a towel, love me some skin cancer.
Finally we headed back and saw some cool waterfalls, drove through the tree tunnel and stopped at a culinary market where mini pineapple things were hanging out....and then we got home, followed quickly by the comma.
Nicole...what a great adventure you are having. Thank you so much for posting. Melissa looks great. I again am sooooo Jealous. Love you
